Buenos Aires, December 7 (NA) -- Agustín Canapino clinched his fifth Turismo Carretera championship this Sunday, all with Chevrolet, and now ranks fourth in the all-time titles leaderboard, just one step away from the podium. Canapino won the titles in 2010, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2025, surpassing drivers of the caliber of Oscar Gálvez (Ford), Dante Emiliozzi (Ford), Héctor Luis Gradassi (Ford), and Roberto Mouras (Dodge, who all had four titles each. With this championship, he is now just one title behind the legendary Ford and Chevrolet driver Juan María Traverso, who won six times (1977, 1978, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1999), and two behind Guillermo Ortelli, another "Chivo" idol, with seven titles (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2011, and 2016). Meanwhile, the most winner driver in the category's history is Juan Gálvez, who with Ford accumulated 9 championships (1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, and 1960).
